ABS Tips

Brake - The brake light may mean simply that your emergency brake is on and needs to be released. If the warning light stays on after checking the emergency brake or comes on when you apply your brake pedal, there is another problem with your main brake system. The problem is usually a hydraulic brake fluid loss and you will find the brake master cylinder or reservoir empty or very low. You may be able to add fluid and the light may even temporarily go off but you still have a leak and the light will come back on when the fluid added is leaked out. Brake fluid leaks are serious and could cause your brakes to fail entirely, so avoid driving the vehicle until the brake system is inspected.
